It's funny no-one's really been able to tell me for sure how long this has been goin on...the few people that have been around longer than I have tell me about 5-6 years...Way before the movie.One guy told me he was told "It started with 12 college kids that got bored and went up to a tennis court and played 6 on 6.They later invited more friends,those friends invited others and thus the start"Pretty believeable but it's just a rumor... What I do know is that I've been playing for about 8 years,there aren't many people that out-rank me in seniority...come to think of it Rocket may be the only one left. In the PAST 10 years different groups have come and gone,from strictly college kids, jocks n preps to a mixture of them and skaters, rockers, and punks to where it became almost an entirely "Scene" event...Baltimore Dodgeball appears to have gone back to it's roots.A group that's so Diverse that you can't Label them all,well actually you can...but the only way to do that is to label them...us...as "The Dodgeball Group".One group formed from every age,sex, race, ethnicity, and religion,every stereotype from jock to skater to rocker to prep to just about anything out there,I could go on forever there's one of everybody,and we never have major issues. We get together to play a game and have fun together.For 2-3 hours a night we show up, forget about our differences and unite as one and embrace eachother.We make new friends in people we probably never would have met if not for this. We're just a group out there looking to have fun and we've since been labeled as The Baltimore Dodgeball Alliance. And I wouldn't have it any other way.
